Garcinia Cambogia

It is a type of tropical fruit that is mostly found in Indonesia and other tropical countries, although it is exported to other parts of the world as well. It is a former scientific name of the fruit and it has a variety of names in various languages including brindleberry, kudam puli (pot tamarind) and Malabar tamarind. In addition to the availability of the organic fruit, it is prepared commercially as well. The fruit resembles a small pumpkin and is either green or pale yellow in its colour. Over the past few years it has received a lot of attention on the media relating to its effects for weight loss. People allegedly claim that the fruit hinders the human body’s ability to make fats and curbs the appetite. Although consuming the organic fruit does help in reducing the appetite due to its sour flavour, the commercially prepared fruit has been shown to have obvious and evident signs of liver toxicity which is quite damaging to the human body. The fruit is available mixed with other ingredients for diet products as well and is consumed to keep blood sugar and cholesterol levels under control as well.

Lipozene

It is basically a dietary supplement that is sold by a company called Obesity Research Institute LLC (USA)’. The supplement is made from an active ingredient called glucomannan’ which is obtained from the root of a plant called Konjac. Lipozene is used around the world as a dietary supplement. The basic ingredient in lipozene, glucomannan can allegedly control the cholesterol levels in a person’s body, treat constipation and bowel transit time and can serve as a potential treatment for type-2 diabetes. Despite the claims put forward by the obesity research institute there have been next to none visible results of consuming lipozene as a weight loss supplement. The company has already been fined 1.5 million dollars for their absurd claims in the past yet they keep on making these claims. Lipozene is an important part of the weight loss industry which keeps on advertising it as a magic pill with no visible results while people keeping on falling prey to the claims.

Garcinia Cambogia VS Lipozene

Both garcinia and lipozene are world-famous dietary supplements that claims of which have taken the world by storm. The praises of both the products have been sung by millions of people through commercials and infomercials as well as internet campaigns which have been responsible for creating a big and widespread customer base across the world. Despite the weight loss advertisements, claims and campaigns, the results and the reviews of ‘actual’ people using these products are quite mixed. Some people admitted to having seen some change in their weight by using these supplements. However those minor changes could have taken place owing to changes in the diet or exercise. For example a review published in the Journal of Obesity claimed that people who took garcinia supplements lost 2 more pounds more compared to people who didn’t. But those changes could have been due to a variety of reasons that the people in the study were following such as low calorie diets and exercise plans. For both Lipozene and Garcinia extract there exists a perpetual confusion about the weight loss results and the views have been pretty mixed with more people being of the opinion that the weight loss effects of both aren’t substantial.

However, one thing is for sure and that is the side effects of both these products. Both of these products have shown themselves as dietary supplements which don’t really show miraculous results as opposed to what is promised. In fact the effects seen are nominal to say the least. But the side effects of both these products really do outweigh any positive effects that may arise. For example lipozene has various gastrointestinal side effects. It has been scientifically proven to have caused digestion problems as well as other problems like gas, bloating and abdominal discomfort. Lipozene can also seriously mess with a person’s blood sugar levels and may also have serious side effects which are less probable but very possible such as cholestatic hepatitis. Consumed on its own, Garcinia cambogia is a pretty harmless and delicious fruit. However when used as a dietary supplement it is up entirely to the manufacturer what they decide to put into the pills. This may even be a combination of ingredients that may not be compatible together and cause serious medical side effects. Nevertheless, comparing lipozene and HCA, regardless of the failure of both as efficient and strong weight loss supplements, garcinia cambogia supplements are definitely the better and safer option as the side effects of lipozene are substantial to say the least.
